Green ego

< Green ego > explores the theme of movement through painting, seeking to break free from static frames. Inspired by Maurits Cornelis Escher’s tessellations, the paintings employ patterns that oscillate and shift based on the arrangement of canvases.

Allowing physical rotation and combining pieces as tiles creates an endless illusion of motion, which is an effort to move beyond conventional approaches toward painting. Rotating canvases connect each image seamlessly, leaving portions of the background flat to preserve an abstract aesthetic.

The painting blends realistic details with watercolor to abstract backgrounds with interference paints. This technique evokes a dreamlike quality and blurs the line between consciousness and unconsciousness, emphasizing the interplay of visual elements and illusion.

Using a green color that resonated with me then, I expressed what influenced me to form my current ego by letting my thoughts flow naturally. The painting process was focused on spontaneity and self-expression, revealing new possibilities for depicting motion and offering a fresh perspective on artistic creation.
